Pure classic lines, combined with modern technology, a hydraulic centreboard, two rudders and a lightweight wood/epoxy doghouse. The 'De Schouwman' has a classic interior layout. This layout is more spacious than the interior of 'De Vrijheid'. She mainly sails the IJsselmeer, the Wadden Sea and the Northsea coast and has a low freeboard. Her draught varies from 1.50 m to 3.20 m so that she has access to shallow waters. The yacht is able to dry out, supported by the keel box and the two rudders.
With regard to safety, this Bestevaer 50S features two watertight bulkheads and an 80 cm high guardrail.
